The village of Tsareva Livada is located in Central North Bulgaria, in the south part of Dryanovska River’s gorge, at the foot of Stara Planina Mountain. At the territory of the village are included 12 smaller villages. The vicinities of the village are like a wreath of beautiful hills and peaks. On the North of the village of Tsareva Livada is lifting a rocky steep tableland called in the past by the native people ‘the town’, and its today’s name is ‘Strinava’. The name of the historic fortress is closely related with the consolidation of the Second Bulgarian State, to be more precise with the Roman Imperator Isak Angel’s war with the first tsar of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom Asen. According to some legends and to the historical facts at the place of today’s village used to be lush pastures, where the Bulgarian tsar’s horses used to graze and that’s where the name of the village comes from (as ‘Livada’ in Bulgarian means ‘pasture’). The population of the village of Tsareva Livada is about 850 people. The village is supplied with water and regular public electricity. At the territory of the Tsareva Livada are located school, community centre, and nursery school. There are hotels and private villas for relaxation and recreation and discotheques. An open-air swimming pool works during the summers. The village is famous as ‘The small Paris’.
